I know this because I’ve lived it. For twenty years as a military spouse, I guided my family through eight moves — raising children, building community from scratch, showing up fully for everyone — without stopping to ask: What do I need? Where is my voice in all of this?
The shift came in two moments. First, 2:30am on our overstuffed grey couch, sobbing that came from somewhere deep and overdue. And then, in a ho-hum instant, a laundry basket on my hip in a narrow hallway, and a voice that stopped me mid-step: You know it doesn’t have to continue to be like this.
Those ordinary, unglamorous moments were the beginning of what I now teach — because those shifts didn’t fix anything, but they changed everything.
Slowly, I started uncovering what had always been true about me but had gotten buried under roles, routines, and other people’s timelines. My values. My voice. The version of myself that existed before I had learned to make myself smaller so everything around me could fit.
I’m not going to tell you that it was easy. But it was worth every uncomfortable, clarifying moment.
The confusion and discomfort you feel isn’t a flaw. It’s a signal. It’s a passage to navigate — and there is a way through.

I’m Clara Mei — life transitions coach, author, and founder of Clara Mei Coaching. With a master of health science from Johns Hopkins and an ICF coaching certification, I bring both academic rigor and lived experience to this work. I’m the creator of the Life Transitions Toolkit™ and the author of Your Life Transitions Toolkit — a practical road map for wherever you are in your life transition. And I’m currently navigating my own empty nest transition, which means I’m right here on my own transition road with you.
I work with women one on one using a framework I developed from years of study in behavioral science and from the real stories of the women I’ve walked alongside.
We start by getting honest about where you actually are — not where you think you should be. From there, we reconnect you with your core values, the compass that has always been yours. You will quickly see how capable you are of making decisions from a place of calm and clarity instead of from fear, habit, or exhaustion.
